Gold Coast Wreckers
Homage to an Aussie icon
€25.00
Iconic in its own right, the unforgettable façade of the Gold Coast Wreckers shop with the precariously perched 215 FX Holden on the front porch, has surprised and delighted passers-by on the high-way to Brisbane for more than 40 years.
I had it sitting on my list of motifs for ages until I felt I was skilled enough to handle its visual complexity, and not until I had carved it, did I realise that the plot was sold and building was torn down. The Australian-made Holden car was donated to the Gold Coast Motor Museum.
An homage to an Aussie landmark, now no longer.
Lovingly hand carved and hand printed and signed by the artist.
A5 on 220g paper.
Part of series: Australiana – east coast
Each of these prints has been produced by hand, from the initial designing and cutting of the lino to the inking and printing. As a result, each print is unique with its own character and distinguishing marks.
I only print a few editions of each colour.
